Our main podcast contains even more in-depth information on how to maximise your marketing strategy, dig into your branding and connect with your audience so be sure to check that out.
This week, it’s all about Meta’s new app; Threads, British Airways ‘Take Your Holiday Seriously’ campaign and the importance of Apple’s new IOS update.
Meta’s new app, Threads
Meta’s answer to Twitter is finally here – introducing Threads. Launching on the 6th of July, Meta has confirmed, and I quote, “Threads is where communities come together to discuss everything, from the topics you care about today to what’ll be trending tomorrow. Whatever it is you’re interested in, you can follow and connect directly with your favourite creators and others who love the same things”.
We’re yet to see how successful this app will be, but we’re definitely excited to see what happens with it!
British Airways Marketing Campaign
British Airways have launched its ‘Take Your Holiday Seriously’ campaign, and my oh my has it got people talking!
This campaign was launched at the start of 2023, however with the holiday season upon us, it’s recirculating. 50% of UK working adults don’t take their full annual leave allocation, and BA’s campaign features a series of out-of-office email billboards with witty automated replies.
Taking time away from work is super important, but this campaign highlights the importance of humour and relevance in your marketing strategy. These ads are memorable, creative and cheeky but they get you talking! We’ve left a link in the show notes for you to check them out.
Apple’s New IOS Update
Apple’s new IOS update came with a few new features such as a new app called Journal, a new way to use stickers and live voicemail.
However, advertisers are fearing the new data privacy updates, with Apple cracking down on user privacy. They announced that the new changes were likely to affect marketers when it comes to tracking and reporting.
But, advertisers fear not – Apple has worked on the ‘Private Click Measurement’ feature to allow marketers and advertisers to track ad conversion without revealing an individual’s online activity. Watch this space for further updates.
Meme of the Week
The impending release of the new Barbie movie has led to hundreds of memes circulating the world wide web.
From tongue-in-cheek jokes to businesses promoting their products using captured stills from the film and adding their own captions, it’s undeniable that even if you’re not a Barbie fan, you’ve probably heard of the release.
We’ve shared our own Barbie meme on our socials, so be sure to go and check that out!
That concludes this week’s roundup! Hopefully, these new insights can help you tailor your marketing strategy to keep it current.
