101 News Podcast Season 2 Episode 6

by Ren Slavin July 19, 2024

Welcome back to 101 NEWS, the podcast within a podcast bringing you the latest news and updates from the Marketing world.

This week, we will be covering Thread’s and their disappearing posts, Google’s AI-powered Insights and the benefits of social media ads.

Threads and Their Disappearing Posts

Meta’s app Threads is seemingly testing a ‘temporary posts’ feature, where users’ posts will be deleted after 24 hours. It has also been reported that all replies will be automatically deleted with the original post. The feature has been compared to Instagram’s stories, which are also available for 24 hours before being deleted. Watch this space for more information.

GA4 Updates

Google Analytics 4 has started using AI to enhance the way in which people use the analytical tool.

AI-generated insights will work through, and I quote, “countless combinations of dimensions and metrics to proactively connect the dots”. In other words, AI will be implemented to help users understand their data a bit better. Google reports that these suggestions will be written in a natural and easy-to-understand way so that anybody can access them.

The Lowdown on Paid Socials

Getting new leads can sometimes be tricky, but it’s nothing that paid social media can’t help with.

The chances are that your target demographic is using social media. So the smart thing to do is to harness the power of online reach, right?

With paid social media ads, you can do just that. Platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram all offer paid social media ad features to allow you to reach the right people. But of course, it isn’t as straightforward as that.

Your ads need to be punchy, unique and represent your brand the way you want it to be seen. Investing in some paid ads will benefit your business big time, as it will boost your online presence, generate new leads which you can convert into customers and in turn, grow your business.

Meme of the Week

This week’s meme of the week goes to US TV Personality, Steve Harvey. Users are cutting footage of Steve saying “I’m so damn confused” over a user-generated image and caption. Some funny ones include “when you fail the test you studied for but pass the one you didn’t study for” and “when I get a 4:30pm calendar invite on a Friday”.

That concludes this week’s roundup!
